How many times have you set yourself a New Year’s Resolution just to find you’re not anywhere near close to reaching it by the end of January?
Each year seems like you set the same old resolution: I want to be skinnier, hit the gym, join this class, Do more!
This year is going to be different, right?
There’s a reason that resolutions fail all the time… because we get too caught up in the end result.
We focus so much on what’s not happening and why it’s not happening fast enough that we give up.
We seem to forget that we become someone totally different through the process of getting to that goal.
Think of someone who wants to lose 100 lbs.
They have to make some pretty drastic changes.
They can’t continue to eat the same things and have the same daily routine to expect such drastic results.
Now, If I were to ask that person how they think they would feel if they were 100lbs lighter, do you think they would say that they would feel the same as they are right now?
They would probably say that they would feel energized, refreshed, happy, fulfilled, grateful.
Here’s the thing… proof comes after action.
So people think that they need proof to feel a certain way.
You can feel all of those things right now!!!
And by allowing yourself to feel those things, it makes getting to your goals so much easier.
You don’t have to wait for something to happen to feel a certain way.
You can cultivate those feelings now and act from that place.
So instead of setting yourself specific goals ask yourself how you WANT to feel.
Because you have the power to generate that feeling DAY after DAY!
People think that success creates overwhelm… but it doesn’t!
Success expands freedom, and who doesn’t want to feel free?
Knowing how you want to feel and making a decision to act in alignement with that each day is empowering.
It makes you want to show up consistently to keep feeling that way.
So the question doesn’t become what are my goals?
The question changes to…
HOW CAN I SHOW UP POWERFULLY TO FEEL THE WAY I DESIRE?
Here’s a little tip: we protect ourselves from the results that we are afraid of.
So if there is a little part of us that is afraid of failure, afraid of what other people will think, afraid that we won’t be able to follow through…
We will stop ourselves from feeling that pain by not starting in the first place.
If we decide how we want to FEEL, we can easily generate that with endless possibilities.
So instead of writing resolution after resolution, use these three simple steps will help you get on track and stay on track for 2018.
1: Think of a goal that you would want to set. When thinking of achieving that goal, how do you think you would FEEL?
Write all that down.
2: How can you generate that feeling now, TODAY! What are your non-negotiables to allow you to start off your day feeling like that?
Write all of those down.
3: Start unlocking these feelings into your subconscious with affirmations. You can start with an easy one like “I am __________”. Or “I choose to feel __________”
Wake up each day generating this feeling for yourself and see how much easier it is to accomplish what you need to do.
Goals will be a given from this point, and the sky will be the limit.
You don’t need proof to be able to feel a certain way, you have everything within you right now to make it happen.
